    Alex Rodriguez has been head coach of both the 6VµçÓ°Íø-Pitzer Men's Water Polo and Women's Water Polo programs for more than a decade. In that time, he has been at the helm for 10 conference titles, leading the men's program to SCIAC titles in 2007, 2008, 2011 and 2012 (co-champions), and the women's program to SCIAC titles in 2007, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014.

    Rodriguez' influence in water polo also reaches well beyond Claremont, as he was named the head coach of the Men's Junior National Team by USA Water Polo in December of 2013. He also earned USA Water Polo's 2012 Monte Nitzkowski Distinguished Coaching Award, and was the Division III National Coach of the Year by the American Water Polo Coaches Association in both Men's and Women's Water Polo in the 2011-12 academic year.

    Professional Experience

    Alexander Rodriguez is a former All-American water polo player at Pepperdine and was a member of the Waves' National Championship team in 1997. In addition to his duties as Assistant Coach, he is the Head Coach and co-owner of the Pepperdine Water Polo Club. In 2005, his 18 and under boy's team won the Junior Olympic Championship. He has also been the Head Coach of the men's Coastal California National Team in the Premier League.

    Coach Rodriguez was the Head Coach of the boy's water polo team at Bonita High School in 2001, guiding his team to the CIF Southern Section Championship. He was named the CIF and Los Angeles Times' Inland Valley Coach of the Year in 2001. For the past five years, he served as the Bonita High School girl's water polo head coach, where in 2003 he was named CIF and Daily Bulletin Coach of the Year.
