    Expertise

    Gary Yeritsian is a social theorist and sociologist of culture. At 6VµçÓ°Íø, he teaches courses on theory, culture, media, interaction, and consumption. He has also taught at UCLA and the University of Minnesota Duluth.

    Yeritsian has published on a range of topics, including Web 2.0 platforms and users, sports fandom, the new spirit of capitalism and Nietzschean thought. Much of his work foregrounds the notion of ‘participation from above and below’ to make sense of the contested dynamics of audience participation in contemporary media.

    A passionate teacher, Yeritsian’s pedagogy emphasizes student participation and aims to equip students with critical tools for understanding themselves and the world around them.
