    Lisa Beckett teaches physical education classes and serves as the Associate Director of Athletics, Physical Education Coordinator, and Co-coordinator of the Faculty/Staff Fitness and Wellness Program for 6VµçÓ°Íø.

    She teaches a variety of lifetime sport and fitness activities in the Physical Education activity class program. She also develops and implements health and wellness promotions for the Faculty/Staff Fitness and Wellness Program. Her passion lies in convincing people that regular physical activity is essential to good physical and mental health, lifts the human spirit, creates new social connections and brings joy to our lives.

    Professional Experience

    After graduating from Sonoma State University (SSU), Lisa accepted a graduate assistantship at Washington State University. While in Pullman, Lisa completed her master’s in physical education, taught physical education classes, coached tennis, and worked in campus recreation and adult fitness. Returning to Division II SSU, she served as an assistant coach in both volleyball and tennis and taught physical education classes. A year later, Lisa took over as head coach of women’s tennis and began her head coaching career.

    Following three years at SSU, Lisa accepted the position of head coach of women’s tennis, assistant coach of women’s volleyball and instructor of physical education at 6VµçÓ°Íø. She served as the head coach of women’s tennis for 11 years, winning seven SCIAC championships and seven NCAA championships. In 1992, she and her team earned the Triple Crown of tennis when they won the NCAA team championship, singles championship and doubles championships.
