Luc Kleiner is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist composer and educator whose engagements with artists and ensembles span a broad array of media, styles and traditions. Kleiner has been a member of the Los Angeles Master Chorale since 2014 and has traveled internationally making music while maintaining faculty positions at several colleges at home in Los Angeles.

Following from a passion and curiosity for song and composition, Kleiner has written, performed and produced many original avant-pop songs, and has developed a fluency arranging traditional shape-note tunes in the art-song style. As a performer/composer, Kleiner finds particular significance in the through-lines, transformations, contradictions and resonances that unfold in spiritual narratives over time.

Kleiner performed with fellow singers from the Los Angeles Master Chorale in Peter Sellars鈥 staging of Lagrime di San Pietro, which opened the Salzburg Festival in 2019, the Melbourne International Arts festival in 2018, and toured throughout Europe, Mexico and in the United States. Kleiner was a featured soloist in the Chorale鈥檚 world-premiere of Ellen Reid鈥檚 Dreams of the New World (2018), the West Coast premiere of Nico Muhly鈥檚 The Faire Starre (2019) and Handel鈥檚 Messiah (2017). Previous solo performances include Jacaranda鈥檚 Three Bakkhai Choruses by Dylan Mattingly, Charlotte Bach Festival鈥檚 St. Matthew Passion and Oregon Bach Festival鈥檚 Cantata series.

Kleiner has worked closely with Street Symphony, Tonality, The Golden Bridge, Encompass Music, Synchromy, L鈥橝cad茅mie du Roi Soleil, and Musica Transalpina, among others. Kleiner鈥檚 voice can be heard on many films and television shows such as Star Wars: Episode VIII-The Last Jedi and Star Wars: Episode IX-The Rise of Skywalker, 鈥淭he Book of Boba Fett,鈥 Disney鈥檚 Jungle Cruise, 鈥淭he Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse,鈥 鈥淢idnight Mass,鈥 and more.
