    Michael Steinberger鈥檚 fields of research are Labor Economics, Macroeconomics and Political Economy.  His research has looked at gender, racial and sexual-orientation wage and hour differentials, income inequality and wage dispersion, and returns to college education. In 2010, his research showing the impact of the estate tax on same-sex couples was cited in the U.S. District Court decision that overturned Proposition 8, banning same-sex marriages in California, as unconstitutional.
