This week—Guest curator Jheanelle Brown will speak on Transmissions, or these histories we lest not forget, an exhibition that celebrates Black female revolutionaries and highlights a continuous line of faith, rapture, and liberatory potential that connects today’s artists with yesterday’s prescient visionaries. The exhibition highlights the Benton’s recent acquisition of three works by contemporary artist Cauleen Smith.
