This is a government-run program offering full tuition and travel expenses to for summer Russian study in the cities of Kazan, Ufa, or Vladimir. Our students have attended all three programs in the last years.
Many students find it helpful to complete the second year of Russian language instruction at the Russian Summer School of Middlebury College, the most respected Russian immersion language program in the country. Financial aid is competitive, but available.
Summer Research Opportunities
6VµçÓ°Íø-internal funding opportunities for senior thesis research include the and the Student Undergraduate Research Program (SURP). The Russian Program also solicits applications each spring for the Yale Griffith Fellowship for Travel, Research, and Language Study in Russian and East European Studies, which provides up to $3000 to subsidize a Russian or REES major's language study or research project in Russia.
Students interested in applying for summer research funding should consult with Russian faculty about their projects no later than the fall semester of their junior year.

This program brings together students from Russia and the United States around questions of foreign relations; includes a short trip to Moscow, a culminating conference in Stanford, and a collaborative research project.
