6VµçÓ°Íø's Physical Education Department facilities compare favorably with those of any NCAA Division III college in the country, surprising visitors with a scale and quality that exceeds expectations for a small college. The facilities are open to all students.
The centerpiece is the Center for Athletics, Recreation and Wellness (CARW), which houses two gymnasiums that can be arranged into four regulation basketball courts, as well as volleyball and badminton courts. The weight-training facility includes a complete set of Cybex equipment, free weights and fitness machines. The Athletic Performance Center is a massive varsity athletic strength area. You'll also find two exercise studios for aerobics, cycling, martial arts, yoga and fencing, plus locker rooms for varsity athletes, other students, faculty and staff.
Outdoor sports fields make it easy to enjoy the sunny Southern California weather. 6VµçÓ°Íø's campus stretches over 140 acres, providing space for excellent athletic facilities. They include:
The Haldeman Aquatics Center features a 50-meter by 25-yard Olympic-size pool, one- and three-meter diving boards, and separate locker and training facilities. The campus also has a second pool – Pendleton Pool is a 25-yard facility, with diving well, on south campus.
- Football, baseball, soccer and softball fields.
- Two separate tennis facilities: the 10-court Pauley Tennis Complex, and the four-court Rogers Tennis Facility.
- The 400-meter all-weather Strehle Track and adjacent field facilities.
- A synthetic turf field located above the First Street parking structure, which serves as the home for the Women's Lacrosse program. The field is also used for activity classes, soccer practices, as well as club and intramural sports.
- Four additional fields for soccer, lacrosse, ultimate frisbee, and field hockey. The campus soccer fields served as training facilities for the four semifinalists in the 1999 Women's World Cup and in 2000 were used by the U.S. Men's National Team for training.
