Overarching Principle:

The Division of Student Affairs at 6V��Ӱ�� contributes to the holistic growth of students by identifying four learning domains which will guide our work and interactions with students. Our interactions will be grounded by community building, social justice, equity, diversity and inclusion. In doing so, we understand that we have an ongoing relationship with the land that we live and work on. We understand that this land is colonized and the indigenous peoples and original care-takers of this stolen land have not been treated well. We are committed to holding these truths and working with the indigenous community to help repair the harm.

As students progress through 6V��Ӱ��, they will collectively cultivate and increase their understanding and gain skills and experiences in the following domains:

Personal Development – We believe that personal development is a life-long growth process that encompasses valuing identity, understanding positionality, and cultivating principles around decision making all while acting with integrity.	As students engage with Student Affairs, they will be able to: Articulate self-worth and value for others Demonstrate ethical decision making and personal accountability Engage in progressive and healthy risk taking Practice resilience and successfully learn from setbacks Process and incorporate feedback
Interpersonal Competence – We believe that respectful and collaborative interactions with diverse community members is key to creating and maintaining healthy, interdependent relationships.	As students engage with Student Affairs, they will be able to: Demonstrate the ability to build respectful relationships with diverse groups of people Create environments where teamwork is embraced and valued Engage in disagreements and conflict through compassionate dialogue Intentionally explore outcomes/resolutions that center the value of reciprocity Recognize the importance of cultivating healthy, interdependent collaborations
Social Accountability – We believe that social accountability is where social justice and social responsibility meet, creating a vision of equity and cultivating global citizenry. It requires equal access and participation by all members. Practical Life Skills – We believe that through the acquisition of practical skills, students are able to successfully navigate systems (educational, health, workplace, etc.) to achieve goals.
